Tate Tanks - the space created at Tate Modern  within what were the oil tanks of the original Bankside power station - have been converted into the world's first galleries devoted permanently to live performance art. The current programme lasts until October. Details are on the Tate Modern website

The installation shown, by Suzanne Lacy, is  a quilt (right), the pattern of which is recreated on the screen on the left by a film of people setting up tables in the same pattern, and then dismantling them - all speeded up so that the pattern emerges and disintegrates in minutes. Quite mesmeric.
