Following the well-received showing of her retrospective exhibition at London's Tate Modern (see Cassone May 2012), Yayoi Kusama and the Whitney Museum of American Art are giving New Yorkers an opportunity to see the fruits of her 60-year career. Kusama spent many years working in America.

Kusama's installation, Fireflies on the Water, which is in the Whitney's own collection, is being exhibited alongside the retrospective 'Yayoi Kusama' show.

The Whitney Museum of American Art is at 945 Madison Avenue at 75th Street, New York City. Museum hours are: Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm, Friday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., closed Monday and Tuesday. General admission: $18. Concessions available
