 ‘A long journey in which many things happen’

Bath Abbey and bo.lee projects have announced bo.lee project’s inaugural show, ‘Odyssey’, which will be on show inside Bath Abbey throughout April 2013. This thought-provoking exhibition will feature work from Tessa Farmer, Patrick Haines, Damien Hirst, David Mach andKoji Shiraya.

Founded by bo.lee gallery Director Jemma Hickman, bo.lee projects focuses on presenting curated projects within inspirational settings through a series of innovative exhibitions, events and installations. Building on bo.lee gallery’s reputation for championing contemporary art that touches upon complex subject matters, ‘Odyssey’ will bring together a collection of artworks that meditate upon the varied routes we may take in life but reminds us of the one common certainty. Housed within Bath Abbey and incorporating works from renowned and emerging artists, the exhibition aims to prompt an altered means of reflection within this sacred space.

Engaging and interacting with the surroundings the works on show each examine a different pilgrimage. Damien Hirst’s Saint Bartholomew, Exquisite Pain will be on show as Hirst challenges the conventional representation of the Christian martyr’s final journey whilst works from David Mach, Tessa Farmer, Koji Shiraya and Patrick Haines will consider journeys of their own.
