Thinking Big

Major contemporary sculptures and installations to be sold to benefit the Saatchi Gallery’s Foundation

On 17 October 2013, at 5p.m., Christie’s London auction house in King Street, St James’s, SW1, will hold an auction of major pieces of contemporary art, to raise money for the Saatchi Art Foundation. The ‘Thinking Big’ auction will support the Saatchi Gallery’s policy of free admission to all exhibitions and its free education programme with over 2000 school visits each year.

Up for auction – with no estimates or reserve prices  – are key works by Tracey Emin, David Batchelor and Jake and Dinos Chapman, Mat Collishaw, and Kris Martin, five of the 50 artists’ whose works will be sold to aid a worthy cause.

Visitors to the vast space of The Sorting Office, 21 New Oxford Street, WC1, can view the collection, spread over three floors of the old Post Office building, from 12– 18 October, between 10a.m. and 6p.m., entry free.
