Maggi Hambling's sea paintings on show at the National Gallery, London, till Sunday

Admirers of the work of Maggi Hambling should get over to the National Gallery, London this week to see her latest paintings of the sea at Southwold, Suffolk, UK. There are eight very large canvases, over six feet by seven, and a smaller one inspired by the death of singer Amy Winehouse (Wall of Water: Amy Winehouse, 2011).
'Walls of Water: Maggi Hambling' is a free exhibition. It closes on Sunday 15 February.
Apart from her painting, Maggi Hambling is also known for her sculpture, especially Scallop (2003), her tribute to composer Benjamin Britten, which is permanently sited on Aldeburgh beach, Suffolk.
