Open evening Saturday 12 November 2011

The Bath Art Affair, showing a fantastic range of fine and applied arts across 30 galleries, opens in Bath on Friday 11 November, with many central Bath galleries open for private views and the opening of the solo show in the Octogon by Peter Randall-Page.

On Saturday 12 November at Margaret’s Buildings from 6.00pm till 9.00 p.m. you can see the work on show in seven fine galleries, with specialists in Prints (Larkhall Fine Art and The White Room); contemporary jewellery, ceramics and textiles (Gallery Nine); Contemporary Fine and Applied Arts (Red Rag Gallery, Bo Hilton and Quest Gallery; and 19th- and early 20th-century art and furniture (Mary Cruz Fine Art in Quest Gallery).

Bath Old Books, The Lime Lounge and Rustico Brasserie will all be open and there will be a number of opportunities to taste a little wine, including mulled wine at the Lime Lounge. The Martin Jenkins Quartet will be playing Jazz and Latin standards in the street throughout the evening.

The Quest Gallery continues to show the works of Martin Yeoman.  Superb landscapes, life studies, still lives and a stunning portrait which owes its existence to this gallery!  The pub quiz question would be: what does a famous actress and a portrait by Martin Yeoman have to do with the Quest Gallery in Bath.  Ask us and we’ll tell you, but here is the portrait.
