Opportunities to own superb examples of fine and applied arts at the Quest Gallery, Bath

— January 2012

Silver objet d'art by Kevin Grey

Quest Gallery’s new year exhibition continues all this week until this Saturday, 14 January. The gallery is known for exhibiting a wide range of contemporary fine and applied arts, and this week you can see the artists on display and remind yourself of works that have been featured at the gallery since last June.

In applied arts, you can see fine silver by William Lee and Kevin Grey, whose career in Rolls Royce engineering transferred with style to Britannia silver like the piece illustrated above.

In the fine arts the vibrant dynamic colours of Justine Eavis are set alongside the cool landscapes of Antonella Scarpa Isles, the deep reds, greys and browns of Felicity Keefe’s western England.  There are also beautiful drypoints of Italy by Ann Gover and the viscosity etchings of Sandra Porter.  Those with an ornithological turn of mind should check the large Crane in charcoal by James Nunn.

In addition to these current exhibitions now is the time to see again some of the works by Nigel Hall RA, Victoria Achache and Martin Yeoman, together with the stunning glass by the Slovakian glass artist Oliver Lesso and English hot glass master Rachael Woodman.  And there is another reason to look now.  Mindful that times are hard, but fine art provides many reasons to be hopeful, this week Quest Gallery is ready to find the best ways for those who wish to own some of these wonderful pieces.  And don’t forget the jewellery and table silver of Jacqueline Scholes, Jenny Dean, Nan Nan Liu, Barbara Bertagnolli and Wendy Ramshaw.

The Quest Gallery welcomes all callers so if you are in or near Bath this week, drop in between now and Saturday.
