Nancy Holt: Photoworks

Until 25 August 2012

Haunch of Venison
103 New Bond Street, London, W1S 1ST

At the Haunch of Venison, London (New Bond Street gallery), until 25 August, the first solo exhibition of the distinguished American artist Nancy Holt focuses on her photographic work, much of which has never been exhibited before. Holt is noted, during a career spanning over 40 years, for site-specific sculpture in both remote and urban landscapes; gallery installations, drawings, texts, films, audio works and photography. Alongside her contemporaries, amongst others Robert Smithson, Dan Graham and Richard Long, she has embraced photography as a medium to explore her art. On display at Haunch of Venison are photographs of some of her most memorable works, including the Sun Tunnels series, 1973–6.

Nancy Holt (born 1938), lives and works in Galisteo, New Mexico. Her work has been exhibited in museums internationally, including Tate Modern, London and the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
