The exhibition ‘Pertaining to Things Natural..’, a display of art works by 20 leading artists, is closing on 31 October. The show is set in the stunning surroundings of the Chelsea Physic Garden, London, the city’s oldest botanic garden, founded in 1673 by the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries. The garden’s title is taken from the 17th-century definition of ‘physic’, meaning a remedy for illness, and this is where medicinal herbs have been cultivated since the garden’s creation. In a collaboration between Art Happens and the Chelsea Physic Garden, curator David Worthington, vice-President of the Royal British Society of Sculptors, has created the largest-ever sculpture exhibition to be held in its grounds, integrating land art, monumental sculptures and delicate artworks.
