Cassone is THE online magazine for art lovers

Cassone: The International Online Magazine of Art and Art Books has entered the prestigious Online Media Awards this year for the first time.

This competition attracts all the big names in online journalism. The Guardian was 2012’s winner of the Website of the Year award, while the award for Online Editor of the Year went to Carla Buzasi, editor-in-chief at the Huffington Post UK. Yet many much smaller magazines and news sites enter every year. Cassone may not be as big a player as some, but the magazine has subscribers all over the world – the love of art is universal.

The magazine carries exhibition and book reviews, articles about museums and other places or items of interest to art lovers, and interviews with artists and others in the art world. The team of experienced, knowledgeable contributors write for the intelligent layperson.

Cassone (pronounced ca-soh-neh) takes its name from the elaborately decorated wooden chest traditionally used by an Italian bride to carry her trousseau to her new home.  The magazine lives up to its name as a box of beautiful things for the art lover. Annual subscription is just ten pounds (five for students); the ‘Art News’ section can be accessed free of charge.

New content is added every month, with a new issue going online every other month (February, April, June, August, October and December).

The editorial team at Cassone believe that art is for everyone. The website is beautiful and the content accessible, interesting and enjoyable.
