London’s global art fair brings together over 180 galleries from 42 countries across the world

Art14 London, sponsored by Citi Private Bank, is taking place at Olympia Grand in West London this weekend.

This year the Fair presents 182 galleries from 42 different countries, showcasing modern and contemporary art from regions such as Asia, the Middle East, South America and Africa, alongside galleries from Europe and the USA. Art14 London’s international scope and outreach offers visitors an unparalleled opportunity to see the quality and variety of art produced across the globe.

The presence of leading Asian galleries marks the Fair as a significant focal point for contemporary Asian art outside of the region, which is a key component of the Fair. Art14 London’s Main Section will welcome a significant number of leading galleries from across Asia, from territories including China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Pakistan and India. From Hong Kong, Pearl Lam Galleries will present work by Michael Chow aka Zhou Yinghua, Choi Jeong Hwa and the UK artist Yinka Shonibare  while Galerie du Monde will focus on Chinese ink paintings by artists including Li Gang, Li Hao, Qin Ching and Quin Feng. Arario Gallery, Seoul will present work by artists including Eko Nugroho, the booth by Lin & Lin Gallery, Taipei will feature painter Liu Wei and One East Asia, Singapore will present a solo stand by Indonesian artist Sri Astari Rasjid.

The Fair will host a selection of galleries from the UK and Europe including October Gallery, London featuring work by William S. Burroughs, whose work is currently on show at the Photographers’ Gallery, London. Karsten Scubert will be showing work by Robert Holyhead, Ann-Marie James, Bridget Riley   and Alison Wilding.   Further galleries from London include Paul Stolper with work by photographer Jon Savage and Meshkati Fine Art & Austin /Desmond Fine Art, featuring work by Iranian sculptor and painter Parviz Tanavoli. Mummery + Schnelle will present work by Polish photographer Marek Piasecki, and Riflemaker’s presentation will include performance work by Liliane Lijn (whose work at Republic of the Moon featured recently in Cassone) and  a film installation starring Keira Knightley by portraitist Stuart Pearson Wright. Lazarides’ bespoke stand will be a recreation of Patrick Bateman’s (American Pyscho) living room, with works by JR, Banksy,  Johnny Yeo, Conor Harrington, Katrin Fredericks and Anthony Micallef. Furthermore, works by Johnny Yeo and Adam Dix will be on show at Eleven Fine Art, work by Marc Quinn   at Paragon, work by David Hockney  at Sims Reed Gallery and work by Terry Frost at Beaux Art.

Art14 London welcomes established and emerging galleries from India including Gallery Sumukha, Bangalore who will present a solo stand of work by Paresh Maity, and Delhi Art Gallery, Delhi, who will showcase works by Tyeb Mehta and M.F. Hussain. Australian galleries include Sullivan+Strumpf from Sydney who will bring a solo presentation by Melbourne based artist Sam Leach.

Art14 London features a number of galleries from the Middle East including Janine Rubeiz from Beirut, whose booth will feature work by Hanibal Srouji. Athr Gallery from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia will showcase work by Nasser Al Salem and Ahmed Mater while JAMM, Dubai will present work by Ibi Ibrahim. In addition EOA.Projects, which has permanent spaces in London and Jeddah, will participate in the Fair. The gallery specializes in commissioning and publishing contemporary Middle Eastern art in print, with a focus on Saudi Arabia. The Main Section of Art14 London will also include presentations from African galleries including Omenka Gallery from Lagos, Nigeria, who will showcase work by the recently deceased artist Okhai Ojeikere, alongside that of American artist Gary Stephens.
