— July 2011

Sir Peter Blake OBE, CBE, Some of the Sources of Pop Art no. 7, screenprint with glazes, glitter and diamond dust

Mall Galleries are launching a brand new printmaking exhibition this August, featuring work by Damien Hirst, Sir Peter Blake RA, Michael Craig-Martin, Patrick Hughes, Gary Hume, Tony Bevan, Stephen Chambers RA, John Hoyland and Barbara Rae RA, alongside outstanding prints submitted to the gallery through an open competition.

Original prints have always been a fantastic way to own art you love at affordable prices and BITE promises a broad range of printmaking techniques, ranging from etchings and screenprints to woodcuts and digital prints – something for all tastes and price brackets.   Artwork prices start from £120, making BITE the perfect place to find a bargain.  If you’ve got a bit more cash to spare, £12,000 will land you Damien Hirst’s Exaudi Domine, a screenprint featuring a kaleidoscope of butterflies, covered in diamond dust.

The exhibition has been selected by renowned print-world experts: Chris Orr, Royal Academician and ex-Professor of Printmaking at the Royal College of Art; Richard Noyce, Curator of the 4th International Print Exhibition in Istanbul 2011; Barton Hargreaves, Royal Academy Schools Epson Print Research Fellow; Brad Faine, Managing Director of Coriander Studio, and Paul Coldwell, Professor at CCW, University of the Arts, London.

And if you can’t find it on the gallery wall… To coincide with the launch of the BITE exhibition, Mall Galleries are launching Bespoke, a contemporary wing of our well-established commissions service, drawing on our growing pool of artists to create and source unique fine art for purpose and place.
