Hail and farewell

I am very saddened to announce the death, on 11 March 2026, of Sue Ward, this magazine's co-founder (with me) and editor from 2010 until the magazine had to cease publishing new material in 2015. Sue loved art and saw it as her mission to spread a love and knowledge of art among the general public. She was previously the founder and editor of The Art Book magazine (published by the Association of Art Historians and Wiley Blackwell). Sue had numerous contacts and friends in the art world in the UK and internationally. I am sorry that I have not been able to reach them all individually with this sad news. The Cassone archive is Sue 's legacy and I will keep it online as long as I am able.
